Digging for the GOLD…
This week, I have been on adventure, digging for gold, and I really wanted to take a minute and share some of the treasures I have found.
Surprisingly, what matters most to people has nothing to do with possessions or monetary value, but rather Tender Moments...
I met Brian at a local Bubble Tea Bar (if you have a chance to visit a bubble tea bar, it's a must, delicious drinks that are unforgettable), anyway, I was randomly asking people that I came in contact with, what they thought of when they heard the phrase "putting your affairs in order". Brian's answer was "end of life", which is a pretty standard answer. As we talked more, I got a story out of Brian that I want to share with you.
When he was a young boy, he "had" to mow the lawn for his grandparents. Now his grandparents must have been some pretty special people, because they were able to motivate Brian to "want" to mow the lawn by telling him about 4 leaf clovers. He was on a search for 4 leaf clovers as he mowed because he wanted that "good luck". And guess what? He found one! Excited to have found the rare and beautiful 4 leaf clover, he ran to his grandma, so proud with his find. She was very proud of his find too and took the clover and carefully preserved it between two pieces of glass. Recently Brian's grandparents passed away, within a few months of each other. After his grandma died, he asked the family if he could have the 4 leaf clover grandma had preserved for him. No one knew what he was talking about, and there was no clover to be found.
This tender moment made a huge impact on Brian's life and I wish they could have found the clover for him. But this story was GOLD because it triggered emotion in Brian and special memories that he shared with his grandparents.
Who knows, years from now, he may run across that clover that his grandma lovingly pressed in glass, wouldn't that be precious to him?
